Were thinking of driving up to sedona this weekend to check out devils bridge. Ive heard theres two ways to get to the bridge. The first way is the regular route which anyone can get to. The other which is "4x4 only", or at least thats what ive read.

Ive got a trd off road prerunner with avid side steps. I have little experience off roading. Is the prerunner capable of doing the "4x4 only" route? If not, I suppose we'll be driving the prius to sedona.

    Thanks guys!

I just hiked Devils Bridge over the 4th of July. Great hike with some great views. As long as its not too sloppy from all the storms lately I would think your truck should be just fine. Its really just a road where you need high ground clearance in a few spots.

Again, if the road isn't too sloppy then you could also continue on past the Devils Bridge turnoff for a few more miles and check out Van Derens cabin. It's pretty neat as well. Although I did need to pop it into 4x4 to make it around one section. Nice little creek crossing on the way too.

You'll probably be ok, the USFS website just says "High Clearance", not recommended when wet. No mention of 4x4.

There's no 4x4 only route, unless you do a random bushwack from the closest 4x4 trail... pretty far. The normal route is an easy road for any truck/SUV, unless it's soaked.

    Stuff.. but not much
You will have no issues in a stock TRD Off Road 4x4. I took my stock SR 4x4 down with no issues at all. Great hike and views.

I am planning on taking my stock 2022 TRD off-road Tacoma to the trail tomorrow. It is not a 4x4 but does have a rear locker and trail conditions will be dry. Will I be fine without 4x4?

Keep an eye on the weather, 60% chance of rain in the afternoon. There supposed to be a decent weather system coming through the state tomorrow.

Thanks for the reply! We are planning on getting the hike done very early in the morning but if it looks like we won’t be able to get up and down before it starts raining I won’t chance it. If it looks like we can get it in before the rain do you think the rear locker is enough to get me through?

Vultee Arch Trail is a dirt road. You'll be fine.

I take my 2 wheel drive TRD on that trail frequently

    No problem at all.

I have seen much less capable vehicles than yours make it just fine. Enjoy
