cigarette lighter outlets gone out

not sure if this is the correct place to thread this topic or if this has been posted yet? both my internal cigarette outlets appear to be out. after using my plug in slime tire inflator the other day, it quit working.

i thought maybe i blew a fuse in the inflator but turns out, when i go to use my cell phone charger in either outlet; there is no juice coming out of them. would this be a sign of a blown fuse and is it something i can replace easy?

i will be looking through the manual soon and hope to see a fuse diagram for the outlets. anyone else have this issue?

The fuse for the cig lighter/power outlet is behind the little cubby drawer to the left of your left knee when sitting in the driver's seat. Directly below the area where the switch blanks (or fog lights, etc) are.

They're really easy to replace...I've blown many of them.

There may be 2. That, I don't remember for sure. But yes, they're at any autoparts store. Be sure to get the right ones. I don't recall what they're called, but they don't look like vampire teeth. The little ones are super small, and the contact areas are on the sides of the fuse. You'll see what I'm talking about once you get in there and pop one out

Oh, there's a little plastic fuse-puller under the lid of your main fusebox in the engine bay. You can use that, or a set of needle nose pliers to get the fuse out.

Good luck!

There isn't any factory light in the glovebox. That's not to say that the previous owner didn't install one.

And here's a picture of the fuses you'll be looking for

sorry I couldn't find a better one for you.

sweet, so there are two fuses then, one for the cigarette and one for the power outlet? did you end up having to replace both fuses and did both the cigarette and power outlet go at the sametime?

I only had one blow. Check both of them before you replace the fuses.

That's for your towing package, it's in the manual. I don't remember what it does ATM but I know it works with your tow hitch and the plug in for the trailer brakes. DON'T THROW IT AWAY!!!

Read up on towing and that will probably answer your question.

probly the brake controller wiring...

i got a 1st gen, and this one time the cigs stopped working. fuses were good. the thing that was wrong was the plug that plugs into the metal cig hole (behind the plastic trimming) came un-plug due to pulling hard on the male end of the plug cuz it was tight fit. i dont know if the 2nd gens have the same plugs.

replaced the 15amp fuse last night and all is working good now with the 12 volt adapter. however, now for some reason my ac compressor is not kicking in and i appear to have no ac. is there some kind of other fuse relay that might be blown for the compressor? i dont hear the compressor kick on anymore when pressing the ac button.

did some wheeling last night and had to punch it out of a ditch to prevent from getting stuck and burnt up the clutch a bit. hahaha maybe i jammed the compressor with a bunch of dirt that kicked up. who knows...
