yes they are called scrameras here dude. the speed limit is 65, but on one interstate it is 55. they put up those scrameras to flash people going 11 or over. however i believe they are purposely set, to trigger at 9 or 10mph over the limit. the cameras violate constitutional rights.

you have them out there, mostly in downtown and street lights right?

IIRC, The speed was lowered to 6 mph over. We had one on our Job site that was set at 1 mph over, and it was flashing all day long at vehicles. It was removed that afternoon and replaced. I asume with one set differently...or whatever.

Yah we have them on street lamps catching people who dont pause for 3 seconds before taking a right hand turn on a red, or anyone who didnt really get through that yellow.. and they get a TON of people. My brother who is an EMT just got a ticket when he was in code 2 (quickly, but no lights/siren) and he had to pay it. Pretty stupid.

Who ever made those should hang himself..

AND the guy who invented the cubical. F that guy too

lol whoever keeps talking about the cameras set at anything less than 11 over is definately misinformed, theres very strict guidelines on where they go and everything like that and DPS themselves check on them frequently

well they are mechanical pieces of horse crap and are bound to miss function. imagine how many photos and money was wasted from all the ones that screwed up. its like ya, wheres my accuser your honor? i dont see any of the redflex cameras in this courtroom, that flashed me.

wouldnt surprise me if they purposely set those off at 6mph to trigger more tickets than normal. or the fact they fu*ked up so many times and were miss calibrated. they are leaving because they know, they themselves are the guilty parties.

i hate assumptions, they are set at 11 over and 11 over only. if they keep flashing its because they are remotely operated and need to be adjusted to the time of day so the pictures arent to dark or whited out and also to adjust focus etc

accuracy means less profits... check this video on youtube

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zray6_2cROk&feature=player_embedded#!

if the cameras are technically advanced they would be able to automatically focus and shoot at during different times of the day. this one in that video was flashing for no reason with the cars on the other side of the road. so if that is not a clear malfunction. even if they were controlled remotely, they still violate my constitutional rights, in my opinion.

So far no...I'm not a traffic unit. My responsibilty is for patrol and responding to calls as a Supervisor. I write citations off and on, but am not mandated too. Our traffic enforcement units..well that's a different story. We have plenty of those guys in this area and a few sneaky Motorcycle Units.

those cameras are coming down, because its the right constitutional thing to happen. if it was constitutional and with reason, then it would be proper. whos responsible for maintaining those machines? how does anyone know if they are properly maintained?
