Anyone wanna help with a lift install?

I am about to pull the trigger on an OME lift and need some help. I am marginally mechanically inclined.....

Either Tucson or Phoenix. I can probably score a car lift on either Luke AFB or Davis-Monthan AFB.

 

check out desert rat truck centers. they had the lowest install prices i could find. hopefully you can find somebody who will help tho. goodluck!

 

I don't think you'll need a car lift, just a floor jack and some stands.

I can help depending on the date and you should get the front struts and coils assembled first, it will make everything go alot faster.

When are you thinking about doing this?

its not too hard to install it just depends on where your going to do it i wouldnt mind helping as long as it isnt too far

 

We could do it at my house, I'll be getting an air compressor in the next week so we will have that too.

I don't have a torque wrench though...

 

Can you borrow your dads?

That would be nice, but my money tree in the backyard has shed most it's leaves lol...

I could borrow my dads for sure Scott, but Chris is right I will need one sooner or later.

I'll check out Home depot, I know I don't have the cash for craftsman right now.

OP just let us know what you want to do, as you can see you have a couple of options.

 

If Taco Gunner has a time frame I have a torque wrench and a spring compressor so it can be done at one time. No need for a trip to pep boys.

I just did my OME and it should not take very long.
It is getting warm out there so the sooner is better.

 

Other than next week, I am golden! In fact, if you guys want to have a little impromptu mod-day, I am down for that. I have a three bay garage with painted floors. A marginal assortment of tools including metric (I used to own a foreign airplane). TONS of parking and close to the White Tank Mountains.

Mod's I need to do.

• grillcraft grill on new color matched grill
• BHL replacement.
• OME lift with LR UCA's.
• temp/compass fix.

And some other recommendations...?? Mostly stock right now. I have a set of badges for someone who wants them on a mod day.

I live just west of Luke AFB. House has a nice pool for post work...girls are welcomed . Or...if you need wife to buy in on it, bring her and the kids, they can swim while we work.

I supply the beer/drinks and all the food?

Thoughts? Dates? Like someone said, sooner the better, I heard it gets hot in Phoenix.

 

By the way, I will probably be selling some items after the work is done:

TRD 16" wheels (replacing with FJ wheels)
Chrome Grille (I have a new color matched grille)
OEM Headlights (I have Depo BHL)

I am new to Tacos so a mod day would be a learning experience for me too!

 

I'd be useless probably but i'd like to watch and learn.

 

Torque wrenches at Harbor Freight are like $30 for the big ass one that you'd need. Works fine for me we used it on my buddy's 280z for his crank pully... It might not be completely accurate (have to get it cal'd to see but meh)... it's close enough to not seriously over/under torque something.

 

check autozone for a 1/2 inch torque wrench............i got mine there(great neck) for $25.......and its spot on as well as the old one i got from napa.

 

By next week are you includingthe 5th Sat. and 6th Sun. or should we look out to the 12th and 13th?
