Just killed a bark scorpion by steeping on it barefoot, by accident. I need to change my carpet so they dont blend in. It's the third poisonous thing I've had in my house in the past two days.

The good news is that U of A did a study and none of the scorpions in AZ will kill you unless you are allergic to them or elderly or an infant. Hurts like hell when you get stung, like a hot poker for like 30 mins.

Born and raised here, never once have I seen a scorpion unless I went looking for them. Never had one in the house, never had cats to get them either.

Used to get them all the time at my parents house up north. Especially right after we built the house. All the digging and yard work forced them inside. They were everywhere!

They're territorial... you either have them or don't. And it can be something like just your neighbors having a stack of wood they wont' get rid of is all it takes for them to nest up.

Gila Monsters are awesome, they're gentle as hell as long as you respect them and give them their space. Hell I used to pet one that would hang around out house growing up.
