I know there are more then just Yakima and Thule rack systems out there but I have both and if you really want, I can hook you up with some bar measurements. ;)

yea i'm sure there are dozens of other small manufacturers but seeing as though those two are probably the largest i think its safe to start there... :D

not to hijack the thread but would you sell just the ends and the tapped piece so that they can be flipped and used as toolbox mounts?

The Yakima bars are 1 1/8" dia. Not shure about the dimensions of the Thule system.

    Nice job on these bars!

Nice!! Yeah I can get the measurements on the Thule bars whenever. I think this would be good that way people can mix-n-match where they want to put stuff.;)

that's what i was thinking. i am interested in a set of bars for yakima mounts but was also thinking about using the "system" to mount my box to the rails.

Added extra awesomeness to its original awesomeness.

plane jane lowes toolbox. i am using j hooks but not happy. i was there this past weekend and looking at the 2" angle but decided against it because i do not have the tools on hand to fashion mounts. then i saw this thread today and realized that this is what i want and asked.

    Check out my sig...
Thule dimensions - 1.3" x 0.96"http://www.rei.com/product/490021I think most of the roof racks (at least the Yakima box and bike carrier I have) should easily accomodate 1.5" x 1" if that would be easier/cheaper to source.May be interested in these. Debating between this (or the inno version) or camper... Hmmm.....
