Got my ATO skids and Sliders

Nice work Adam. And fast, too!

These things are beast. I got them cleaned up and primer'd. The weather is too cold to paint them yet, so it will be a couple weeks to get them mounted.


I forgot to ask a couple things :

1. Stickers/decals. If you got some, I'll gladly advertise for you.

2. How hard would be for you to make some brackets to lift the front of the drivers seat a bit, basically increasing the tilt ? If the front of the seat were to come up 1.5" or so that would be the most bestest amazing thing ever.

The installation seems pretty straightforward - any tips or things to watch for ?

 

I have some of their sliders too. They are rock solid! Hope you enjoy 'em!

 

Front Skid don't fit.

The front bolt holes are way too far apart, and rearward ones are about an inch off as well. The middle ones line up nice enough, though.

 

The sliders are also a bit off.

Hits this part about an inch too high.



And some of the bolt holes to be drilled are right over frame welds or otherwise don't line up real well.



It's not that big a deal, but I thought you know.

 

You need to take off the oem skid plate brackets. Should fit like a champ after that.

 

Take off those 2 braces. Then it will line up

I can only blame the drinking. Actually, that very thought occured to me right after I made the post, but I got distracted by this before I could post back.



Dude was doing ~80 in 35 while drunk. Took out too cars, and flew into oncoming traffic before rolling it over. This was about 150 feet from my house. It sounded like a war zone with all the crashing and whatnot going on. Dude got arrested, nobody was seriouly hurt, but he did destroy a new Subaru - the guy was just driving it home from the dealership down the road.

Friends don't let friends drive spacer lift shitty ass dodge pickups. Oh yeah, don't drink and drive at 2pm on a Friday for chrissakes.


As for the sliders, Adam, I busted out the grinder and fixed the slider fitment issue. I don't know if this peculiar to 2012+ tacos, but you might take it under advisement.

Trim that tab in the middle down a bit and it fits nicely.



Otherwise (and this is sort of a bad shot) it hits that angled piece there at the body mount and won't seat in all the way.

 

Sorry for the issue with the sliders, we'll get that fixed! Somehow you're the first one to report that but not the first one with them.

It's all good, man. I have a model refresh, and this truck was one of the first 2012s made - there is a lot about it that is not quite the same as others. Besides, this is not a hobby for people who can't problem solve.

After the drilling and letting the paint dry, I got the sliders fully installed today. They. Are. Awesome. The truck looks totally bad ass now.



I'll try and get some better pics maybe tomorrow. Also, the drivers side is a bitch to do, though. Gas tank, brake lines, power cables - all there. The joy of small trucks....

I'll be in Moab next month. Maybe I will bang into things and we'll see how they hold up.

We can make you a set of weld on sliders to whatever length you need for your Tundra. However we do not have bolt on sliders for the Tundra.
