What's the best way to coat or weather proof these bars? Powder coat? Spray can?

You can powder coat them if you'd like. I personally prefer POR 15. Rustoleum spray paint is good also.

I know this may sound strange, but has anyone considered using these within close proximity of eachother has sort of a cradle for the front tires of an ATV?

Could have a ramp attach to the front bar, ride the ATV up, and let the tires cradle between the two of them. This would raise the front end of the ATV up, maybe letting the tailgate shut on short beds, and also open up a lot of room underneath.

Something akin to the rizerback rack, but with this attaching to the Tacoma built in rails.. I find it somewhat appealing to consider.

These bars look like they could handle the front end of an ATV..

these are great, reflects very well on ATO's customer service by their readiness to customize to any need. good alternative to a full on bed rack that would not accommodate a toolbox. Future mod added to my list!

Can I ask a question? What bar rise would get me closest to 4 1/4 - 4 1/2" to the top of the cross bar? To sit about level with the top of my big tool box.

Subbed...I have a 1ft deep Kobalt tool box on the back of mine; would like to find a basket small enough to fit to keep from using my factory racks...I'll do some measurements, really nice bed bars...:)

We can build you a custom set that would work for you at the 4.5" height. You'd just need to order the 4 inch rise cross bar and put in the notes for height that you'd like it to be 4.5 inches.

Sounds good, let me know when you're ready and we'll be happy to get you set up.

    Hi Adam-
Could you tell me how wide the mounting plate is? Also, does the mounting plate stick out from the inner wall of the bed? If so, how much? Thanks for the info

Order placed! 8in rise. After seeing Loco's setup, this looks like the perfect setup for my RTT. Pictures to follow once they arrive. Cant wait! :D

Crossbars with 8 inch rise turned out great. Work perfect with my RTT. Thanks! Feel free to use these photos.
