    Kevin,

Any idea how much weight saving would occur with at 3/16" version? I want a strong skid, but bolting an additional 70+lbs to the front end doesn't bode well for the MPG's.

well i've weighed an all pro skid which is appx 3/16" and it weighted in at like 50 some pounds.. so it would be a little bit lighter but i think the added strength is worth the extra few pounds.

Love it! Kevin built me exactly what I wanted and it swings open like butter. I still need to re-route the wiring for the license plate light/3rd brake light and re-install the CB antenna to its new mount behind the tire but here it is.
The bumper was origionaly made by Armorology in Colorado Springs, Kevin added the tire carrier.

First off I'm running Allpro's 3" lift leaf packs whitch are slightly longer than stock leafs. When I installed the Armortech shackle flip it caused my shackles to sit nearly flat with the road surface towards the rear (I don't have a pic). This caused a VERY stiff ride in the rear because the leafs couldn't flex upwards.
A couple days ago I installed a set of Daystar 1" lift XJ shackles. It now sits nearly perfect with the shackles about 45 deg back and I have a nice plush ride outa the rear.
It did lift the back up just under an inch so I have a slight front rake, not as much as a stock truck though. I think if this were done on a truck without the extra weight on the ass like I have it would sit to high.
Don't get me wrong, I love Kevins flip kit I just thought I'd share what combo of components worked for me.
It's a cell phone pic, I broke my digital cam.

My guess is you'd either sit way to high or you'd have a negative shackle angle. His kit works just fine with the stock pack (the AAL doesn't lengthen the pack)???

How long did the install take you, cutting the hangar, etc.?

Hahah...Well, about 2 hours on one side then an hour and a half on the other. If I had to do it again I could probly do both in less than 3 hours, including grinding off the rust that builds up between the hangers and frame and repainting.
Cutting off the heads of the rivets is easy, then you need to drill through the center of the rivet with a small bit. Then drill through it with progresively larger bits until its weak and you can smack it out. Some of the rivets are hard to reach with a drill witch makes it tough. It's definately a bitch but gets easier the more you do it.

Got air but no chisel. An electric wheel grinder made quick work of the rivet heads. Yes, used center punch and a BFH (be prepared to wake up and piss off the nieghbors)

So you don't have to cut the hangar, just the rivets, and it comes off? I was looking at it today, and couldn't tell if it was just rivets or welded to the frame.
