There is a reason for the redesign and why no others are really on the market.
    Wouldn't want the old ones.

Kevin isn't going to put anything on the market until he has got it down to a science and knows that it will fit every time with no problems. For this reason I don't mind waiting until he is ready to a product up for sale.

if you run longer leaf packs, dont you also need to worry about relocating the front hangers?

I always though direct oe replacement leaf packs were designed to be the same length as stockers, but with more lift, flex, droop, weight capacity, etc.

So what you are saying is that he will have to design different flips that are specific to that vehicle's leaf pack? Because I am sure that not everyone has the same rear suspension set up as the next guy.

not exactly. What i am saying is, for any aftermarket leaf pack to fit on our tacoma without relocating the front and rear hangers, they have to be stock length, because the axle needs to stay in the same place.

All Pro, Deaver, Dakars, etc, need to ensure that their eye to eye length is same as stock.

Otherwise, if each leaf pack is different from the other, then our axles will be everywhere.

One shackle flip should be compatible with all direct OE replacement leaf packs out there.

However, one thing that should be taken into consideration is how much droop aftermarket leaf packs have because you dont want that shackle to go past a certain point during droop and compressed inverted.

Let me know if Im talking out of my ass

Seeing the third gen section forced me to get a Ford...
^^ this is why stock leafs would work w/ the old kit fine and the OE replacements needed the longer XJ shackles to work w/o binding, IIRC.

Oh ok I see what you are saying.

Side note: just got some sliders installed by him yesterday and I have sprayed them with primer yet and they have started to rust a little bit. It has been cold and raining all day but I need to get them covered today before it gets any worse. Any tips for getting the rust off? And I know you aren't supposed to rattle can anything when it is cold or raining but I don't want them to rust any more than they already have.

Will they be ok until then? It isn't going to stop raining until a few more days I believe.

    X2.

I had a bunch of unpainted metal on my truck for almost a month, I just kept them drenched in WD-40 until I was ready to paint.

Be sure to get all that WD-40 off when you paint or else it wont stick.

Ok I'll do that. I have done that before on my old truck on the exhaust tips but didn't know if it was a good idea on the sliders cause I don't know how hard that shit is to get off. That should be ok to use in the cold/rain right? Sorry for all the questions I just don't want my investment to rust out on me lol

DO NOT paint them while wet. DO NOT.

They will be fine. It'll take months, probably more than a year, for them to rust through if you did nothing to protect them at all. A couple days is nothing.

Wait til it stops raining, let them dry completely, then go after them with a wire brush to knock the surface rust off. Them hit 'em with a coat of primer, a coat of rubberized undercoat, and paint of whatever color you like. Or just leave the undercoat. That stuff is the bomb for preventing rock chips and making touchups easier.

Dude I have been waiting for you to chime in since I posted about that haha. Thanks for the advice. I just didn't know how long I would have until the rust compromised the sliders. I didn't think about using some rubberized undercoat that is a good idea. Thanks again.

Sorry I missed your call earlier. Just wait until it stops raining and deal with it then. You can use a scotch brite pad, wire wheel, pretty much whatever to knock off whatever surface rust is there and then hit it with some primer. No worries on it rusting right now, it won't hurt a thing.
