Another Armor Tech Offroad bumper

http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/2nd...ly-badass.html

*pun intended

(this was posted on ttora but I know many of you don't go over there)

I know most mods here are aesthetics or performance, this one is offroading.

So today was the point of no return
Gave my truck a new ass for it's 10,000km (6250 miles) anniversary

First step, remove bumper..

Then, start the :saw: for the test cut...

Then do cuts about 1 inch lower than expected height... (no picture)

Then put the new bumper with 2x4s to space it out lower and be able to trace the cut lines exactly where they need to be..

Then do the final cut

And voilà!

Here is a video of a cut...

That thing looks awesome! BeachBoy has done an insane job building up this truck. One of my favorites out there.

This weekend I'll plug the reverse lights and the plate light

I need to find weather strip too, and get that stupid exhaust cut

Wow! That's a solid bumper. Question, what are those 2 channels that cut in under the bumper for? NM, figured it out...Hi Lift attachment points to keep it from sliding.

I sometimes use the sliders to lift the truck completely (both front and rear at the same time), in order to swap tires front to rear, and lift points would be way safer.

I'm glad I have them on the bumper

Just a couple quick questions: Are the bedsides flimsy after you made the cuts? Was there something you had to attach to the inside of the bedsides if they were flimsy?

yea after the cut they get fairly flimsy.. most choose to add a brace from the fender back to the bed.. i'll shoot you a picture of what i did with mine for reference but there are several different ways to do it.
