Well here is my homemade plate bumper. Took me a couple weeks of only working after work on it but it was worth it. I went at it with no plans other than the general look in mind of a few popular brands. I dont think it turned out to bad.

Are there any in New England?

None that are on here. Closest to you is probably the newest company out of Maryland, not sure of their name. Next is SOS concepts in South Carolina. All the other companies are out west.
Some of the companies like relentless offer DIY bumpers you just need to weld or find someone to weld it for you.

Right on, thanks. I can weld so perhaps a DIY kit might be a good option. Unfortunatly, shipping charges for something that heavy are going to suck.

I wouldn't buy from a company based on how close you are. Also remember when it comes to things like off road bumpers and parts that you put a lot of trust in to keep you safe, the dude offering his services for half price then other reputable companies is more then likely the dude offering half the care, knowledge and craftsmanship. Some of the names mentioned fall into this criteria

There are lots of good companies out there. Do your research, contact people who own them and ask questions! People on here are more than happy to help someone out. SEND THEM PMs, which keeps fan boy biases out of the discussions. Don't pay to attention to people trashing others unless they own it or use it with first hand knowledge for themselves. Make your decision based on facts and info "you've" gained that meet your critera and needs!
Best of luck in your search:D

I also have an aluminum bumper from SOS. It is very well made, and Eddy is a great Guy to work with. He was in contact during the whole process.
