Your Cobra has a swr meter built in & the manual has instructions on how to use it. I've got the 29 NW ST WX. Picked it up from a guy who used to drive for a living. It's got a 2-stage echo board in it & a couple of little goodies! I have a K40 cb antenna with the magnet mount & it does great. As far as a cb shop getting inside the radio, that would be to boost your receive, power & modulation. If you have someone do any of this, MAKE SURE THEY DON'T CLIP THE DIODE to boost the modulation. This will make you splatter Over the other channels & shorten the life of your radio. I believe it's the V4 pot you turn to boost the modulation.

Also I've heard good things about the blue tooth capabilities.

The black face & blue lights are cool! Get familiar with the swr procedure & there should be instructions with the antenna on making the adjustments.

No problem. I was close, it's VR4, inside the radio they turn to boost modulation (loudness).

OKAY so i got my co ax cable and hooked it all up and got a bad SWR. Talked to a radio guy he said i need to get nicer coaxial cable and i need to get 19' of it. Is this a good idea? (mine came with a mere 9' of coaxial)
