Ok, it is upgrade time. I am getting the tint done (hopefully this weekend).

Now, I am really wishing that I had a sub (Mr. Marv, tune in here :D ). I want some extra lows without waking my neighborhood and without taking up too much of my AccessCab (read: unnoticible).

For my first preference, I was hoping to put a powered enclosure under the seat. Something that is off the shelf is preferred. I am looking at JVC and Kenwood, but neither seem like they are going to fit. The seat is just so low to the floor. Any ideas?

For my second preference, I was hoping to put a powered enclosure in the storage bin under the rear seat (remember: this is an AccessCab). I don't want to take up both bins. They are just so damn useful. :)

My final option for consideration, place a sub in one of the Access suicide doors or both. This would take the most work, but would yeild the biggest subs. That isn't what I am trying to do. I just want some extra bass.

Any ideas are greatly appreciated. THANKS!

I measured the access at the back of the seat. It is a bit over 3 1/2 inches, but there is a support bar across the bottom that seems to swing lower than that. I can't get in there to measure it...

I am looking at the Kenwood version...

    Crutchfield: Kenwood Powered Sub

If I raise the seat (like I am talking about doing in another thread), then this should work out fine. I was just hoping that Mr. Marv had a better idea, or just a suggestion. He is kinda busy though... :(

Sorry guys and gals! I've been busier than a one-legged man in a butt kicking contest and on top of that my aunt has been in the hospital so I've been shuttling my mom back and forth to see her as well as taking care of other things for them (a 3 hour in/out surgery turned into an all day surgery and she's been in for 2 weeks as of today). I will come back with some ideas just as soon as I can and will answer all PM's as well. :)

No rush. I have my hands full too. I am just trying to figure out what I am going to do when I have a spare minute (no danger of that happening anytime soon). :)

Since you say you don't want it too loud, You could use one of the compartments under the seat and consrtuct a fiberglass enclosure to hold 2 8 inch subwoofers. Rockford Fosgate and JL audio make excellent 8 inch subs. It wouldnt wake up your neigbors and it would sound great inside the cab.

Has anybody seen/heard this thing yet? It seems you can get it for about 145.00 at other places. The comments do seem to be good. I am very interested in it. I don't need enamel chipping bass or something that cleans my fender wells but something just to add some clean low end.

Those types of enclosures work well for people who are just interested in a little more bass. If you listen to rap, this probably will not work for you. Because of the size of the enclosure, it is very hard for that sub to reproduce deep bass. It will be more on the boomy sound. Again, its just a preference. Any addition of a subwoofer will make a significant difference in your system but doesn't necessary mean it will sound perfect. If you havent had experience with having a sound system, you will probably be happy with this setup.

    Thanks Jesse,

I hate keep asking questions, there seems to be so many and have probably been asked AND answered hundreds of times. Don't slam me yet but:

I like clean bass as much as the next guy. I do pop in a POD CD once in a while but that is as rappy as I get and I can say I am bit more of a rocker and please don't say anything but I have been noted to listen to a bit of blue grass on the side.

I am trying not to give up all my back seat space, my left side will be an amp and XM module and this thing will make a great install in the center bottom of the right side and all this (both sides) without a lot of cutting up the plastic inserts. I am a bit over the budget with the Pioneer TS-C720prs's and if I squeeze real hard I could fit this into the plan. I do plan on rammat'g (or similar) just about everything.

Do you catch my drift here?

    Thanks for the time.

I feel you. Under your circumstances it sounds like your making the right choice. Especially if your trying to keep it within a certain budget. By no means is a sound system cheap, even if you go with bottom end. Sounds to me like you know what you want. Let me know if I can help.
