Wow, I can't say enough good stuff about this unit. I ordered up a pioneer from Amazon but than I sent it back when i found out MSN direct would be discontinued in 2012 and live traffic would be non-existant. I searched and searched for a unit that had all the features i wanted and this is it. I have it setup to work with the stock JBL system. Here are all the positives about this great unit....

    1. Detachable Face !! ( yes, no more worries about thieves )
    2. Front usb & aux slots. SD card slot inside of detachable face
    3. LIFETIME FREE live traffic ( navteq ), HD RADIO, and Weather
    4. Xm or Sirius ready
    5. Color changeable lights ( perfectly matched up to my oem orange )
    6. Great sound quality
    7. Fast, Fast, Fast, Nav, traffic, everything loads up very quickly
    8. Volume Knob, yes its nice to have a real one
    9. Bluetooth ready
    10. Updatable software/firmware through sd slot

    Negatives...

    1. Face is 6.1 size

Nice with the live traffic updates. How long does that thing take to startup? What are the pre-out voltages?

^Nice! That was why I returned my Pioneer unit...1.5 minutes to start up and play music!

I looked it up and you've got 2.5V pre outs; not bad. The fact that it's detachable too is nice. My only qualm would be the USB on the front.

ahhh but on the back of the detachble face is an sd card slot. That way you can have your music playing off the sd card and its still unobtrusive ;)

I see that it has the DVD logo on it.
Have you used that feature? Hows the picture?

Would I be able to watch a movie on a long drive? While driving?

Do your steering wheel controls still work for volume, track selections, etc?

Could you plug an iPhone into that USB and have it charge as well as listen to music?

Did the 09' come with built in bluetooth with the JBL system? I have a 10' DC sport and I love the blue tooth feature. Just wondering if it would be a plug n play? Im really liking the detachable face. Is there any lag with the steering wheel controls? What about the XM that is built in? Im utilizing that in my truck. Still free from dealer and its been over a year, just wondering if you need a new ID number or if its still the same? Thanks.

No lag with the steering wheel remotes, the bluetooth is awesome on the JVC and automatically uploaded all my contact info from my iphone. The JVC unit is sirius AND xm capable so you can use either or, you will have to use the new id # thats on the jvc unit.

Here's kind of an odd question. How long is the cable for the microphone?

    Thanks, Lucas
