2001 Rear Speaker, Panel Removal?

I bought some 6x8s to replace my factory rear speakers, 2001 Xtra Cab.. wondering if anyone had tips/steps for removing the rear panels to gain access for swapping them out.. I just wanted to check first before prying/pulling on anything and risking breaking any clips and such lol.

 

Also.. I saw a picture of the panel the speakers mount into, looks to be just a flat panel? Could I trim and use 6x9s instead? I think I found instructions to the panel removal.. but wondering about the speaker size just in case, I could exchange these 6x8s and get 6x9s instead if possible.

An answer to what? How to remove/replace the stock speakers? Whether a 6"X9" replacement will work?

Removal/replacement is covered in the Crutchfield Master Sheet I've attached.

Having done mine, I suspect modification for 6"X9" installation may be possible, but I don't think I'd want to mess with it. Easier to install a correctly-sized replacement and add a sub, which will provide better low-end than the 6"X9" anyway.
