I have an 03 Double cab and was looking to put in 2 JL Audio 8w1v2 in and found out today that they are a hair to deep to mount in my inclosure any one have any ideas of how to fix this or sugest the next best thing? The inclosure mounting depth is only 2 3/4" at its shallowest part. this is the tightest i could get the inclosure to be.

For kicker's CVT subs, they give you a round piece of 1/8" or so steel plate pre drilled so you can cut a hole in the back wall of the sub box for the magnet to recess into and cover it with the plate from the outside. You gain whatever thickness of material you built the box out of.

I ended up using the Kicker 8" cvt and that fixed the problem. If I blow there up we will try the ring and I will go with the JL 8 w1s.
