2009 Tacoma integrated sirius install?

I did a search and could not find the answer?

I have a 2009 Tacoma w/ the built in satellite antenna on the roof. I also have the 6 disc changer (not JBL) with the steering wheel controls. On my head unit I have a SAT button so I know there must be a plug on the back for a satellite radio reciever.

Is there an integrated reciever for sirius that will work with my configuration? I found one post that showed where the end of the antenna is located, but failed to mention if it works with a sirius reciever? Not sure if the plugs are the same on xm and sirius recievers?

The guy at my stereo shop couldn't find one either?

If you want to utilize the stock sat antenna, you'll need to pick up one of these cables (I just ordered mine today - so I'll find out shortly if it works with my sirius unit). Other posts say it does work. One end of the cable plugs into your xm/sirius tuner, the other end plugs into a female adapter somewhere behind the kick panel on the driver's side. Good luck.

i have a similar problem , although i dont have the factory antena. i dont mind an aftermarket on the roof. actually have one installed for the starmate and it doesnt look bad at all. but would like to take advantage of the sat ready radio and do away with the starmate.no one at any electronics store or toyota dealerships, or even the factory toyota rep that visits the toyota dealerships, has been able to tell me what tuner and interface i need, be it xm or sirius, i prefer sirius but would consider xm if that was my only choice.i have had my 09 since end of july and have been on a continuous seach for the solution.why the heck would toyota put a radio in the vehicle that is sat ready, and not be prepaired to answer any questions about it?. good luck with your search if you find something that works give me a shout and i will as well

I've also got an '09 sport and I am waiting for Toyota to get the Sirius receiver in because I've got the built in antenna and want to utilize it. So far, they've been unable to help me.

I've been asking myself the same question. All that I have found out (can't remember where, but I think it was the toyota parts website) is that the ipod interface uses the same ports on the factory head unit (the site said you can only have one or the other).

I am getting the ipod interface for my 09, so I'll at least try and find out where that interface plug is on the head unit (assuming I feel brave enough to pull things appart). I get my truck tonight, so I'll take a look and see then.

Sorry, my earlier post linked to the incorrect part required to utilize the stock satellite antenna on the 09 taco's. (I showed the 'female' cord, but a 'male' cord is what is needed). Here is the correct one:

http://www.tss-radio.com/lexus-shark...er-p-5647.html

I ordered one and have it connected to my sirius alpine unit, and it works fine. I could have used the antenna that came with my kit, but the taco doesn't have a really good spot to mount it. It can be mounted on the roof right above the rear view mirror, but I didn't think it looked that great. Again, you'll find the plug for this cable behind the kick panel on the driver's side (by your left foot).

just got finished installing the toy=sc1-sc-c1 combo from directed electronics with my stock 09 headunit(non jbl) works awesom! nobody could tell me what tuner to use either xm or sirius( obvious preferance sirius) so i just bit the bullit and took a chance. worked out real well, i don't mind the aftermarket antena , but if some one knows of a better looking antena let me know, would always love to dress it up a little nicer, but the tuner and integration unit works perfectly with all the functions working as if from the factory, not sure how many presets as i only use 13 of em but looks like it may be 18

I'm interested in getting the ipod interface too. Have you installed it yet? Was it hard to do?

i've not done the ipod interface and probably wont, but it should be as simple as the sat radio was.hardest part is keeping things protected so you dont scratch em

I had the dealer do the install, but after looking at the instructions, it looks very simple to do (hardest part is pulling out the head unit...which is easy). But now that I've had time to play with it, I don't think the interface was a good purchase as I there isn't as much controll over the ipod as I was hoping for..the text display and charging isn't even working (I have to look into that still, they may have set a jumper wrong).

I use my satellite radio more now anyway (I wired a sirus sportster to the built in antenae and use the auxilary port for audio).

Thank you both for the info, and please keep us up to date on what you find out about the jumper.

Hi, I have an 09 Access cab with "sat" buttom on factory radio. Plan to install the SCC1 & TOY-SC1, with the SFA 12M sharkfin adapter. Can you tell me where you mounter the SCC1 & TOY-SC1? Any suggestions or tips?
Thanks in advance.
Bob
