once you find a sub you like. You need to find out a few things about the sub.
    1. What it is rated RMS (constant power)
    2. ohm, 4 ohm sub to a 4 ohm stable amp (pretty much all amps are stable at 4 ohms)
    3. if it is only for a sub, get a mono block. for subs, get a 2 channel. subs and speakers, 4 or more channel

so the amp has to match the subwoofers constant power

a 2 channel amp. has 2 hook up on it (2 positive terminals, 2 negative terminals). 4 channel amp has 4 hook up on it (4 positive terminals, 4 negative terminals) Also, a 2 channel amp is most likely smaller than a 4 channel amp will be.

The constant power on the amp can be lower than the constant power the sub can handle, but I would not advise getting an amp that will have more constant power than what the sub can handle constantly

ohms is the measure of resistance of the current. 4 ohms is pretty normal, the higher number the higher the resistance. This becomes important when when your are setting up ur sub and amp because cuz you and mess with switchng from 4 to 2 ohms to increase the power to your subs, but it can damage your sub. i have a 3200bt and its a great HU and i ran it with the stock speakers for awhile it is work alright but i know what your are talking about.

like others have said any shallow mount sub from mtx, alpine, kenwood should work fine. I run one 10 mtx thunder sub, and i like it. But i have to say if you want to keep the stock speakers and have two 10's you might find that the sub will overpower the speakers not giving you the quality that you are looking for

    Product Description

KICKER introduced a true high-performance subwoofer with a reduced mounting depth a few years back, and it was met with immediate success. Who wouldn't want a subwoofer that pounds insanely from the slimmest locations The next generation of KICKER CompVT Subwoofer slides into door panels and other tight fits. Precise KICKER engineering allows the CompVT to pound with limited space. A special four-layer voice coil provides the CompVT the ability to work with serious amounts of power without the bulk. The woofer's stiff, injection-molded, modified-spoke cone is shaped to provide maximum excursion from a slender basket, allowing the ideal amount of flex for better strength and durability.

    Features:

Steel clearance adapter plate replaces part of enclosure wall depth to further lessen depth High-temp coil wire Slender, strong steel basket with coil-cooling perimeter venting Durable Spiralead tinsel leads Tough double-stitched surround Special spring-loaded binding posts for minimizing depth IMPEDANCE (Ohms) - 4 DVC POWER WATTS (peak/RMS) - 800/400 SENSITIVITY (dB 1w/1m) - 86.8

i dont see anything about wattage

it says it at the end, 800/400 peak and RMS so you can get at a 400W or less mono ch amp or a 2 ch and bridge it (that what i did) and you should have enough to power the sub.

have you heard it yet, that is really the determining factor of whether its worth it or not. If it sounds like garbage then it not worth. but if you like it, that is not a bad price at all

x2....google is some amazing shit lol. Your on the right track. if your powering one sub rated at 500 rms get a one channel amp thats got around 500 watts or more and adjust the amp untill you like the volume its at. ohms is the measure of resistance. ill try to find a wiring diagram that explains ohms in car audio for you
