How long is the cable you're dealing with?

I don't have pictures, but there's several on this forum already. A few people mount it under the dash facing up-ward somewhere. I had a 1000' long cable with mine (crazy long). I re-terminated the end and left a 1 1/2' coil (to attenuate it a little bit) dangling behind the unit, and then double-sided taped it to the top of the HU.

Acquisition is fairly quick, but the HU's nav isn't my primary use, so I don't care too much for how long it takes. Signal is pretty solid, though.

are these plugs weather resistant?. how did u get guys get the cable thru on top of dash? I cane find an opening and dont want to tear apart the dash if possible.
and Thanks a lot for your responses. I do like where grey beauty has hers but would rather keep it inside(secure).

p.s. I must not know how to use it but I did try a search first and it came up with an install by toyota07 and did not include gps.

Mine is an inside antenna. I ran the wire under the dash to the A pillar molding gap.

Under dash... full signal strength and fast acquisition ... why do anything more difficult or complicated.
