I just installed a kenwood kdc-895. I was able to get the two tuner and the kenwood adapter into the dash behind the head unit. I really like this head unit. lots of audio controls. in fact I have no idea what half of the adjustments do.

    Hey Monkey Wrench

I have the KDC-895 as well, but the damn dimmer control is not working, i.e., the car dimmer is not controlling the display brightness. Does it work on yours?

I checked my wiring harness, I believe the orange-white is supposed to work the dimmer control, but it does nothing, brightness stays the same. The "Disp" and "Illumi" settings in Settings > DISP & ILLUMI are both set to AUTO.

    Thoughts?

    -Pete
