I am getting ready to order a new head unit (next week or so) as well as a Sirius adaptor. I am planning on ordering a Kenwood DDX712. Does anyone have any experience with this stereo? Is there a better option that has pretty much the same specs? Also, does anyone have a link to the specific adaptor I will need in order to use my steering wheel controls with it?

Last question, anyone have experience with www.SonicElectronix.com? They seem to have great prices and include the wiring harness and mounting kit.

Okay, ignoring the rest of it does anyone know the specific PAC adaptor I'll need to use the steering wheel controls?

I've thought about using sonic, but they're prices seemed too good to be true, so I haven't used them. You should try them out and let us know how it worked for you.

I'm going with a Pioneer AVH-P4000DVD since it's easy to bypass the e brake cable to stop you from watching dvds while driving, and it supports dvix movies... You can get an adapter from http://www.pac-audio.com/ to make the steering wheel controls work the the aftermarket stereo.

Thanks. To bypass the emergency brake on the Kenwood all you have to do is take the brake lead and ground it, doesn't get much easier than that.

same with the pioneer i'm looking at, but some of the nav decks get tricky since the gps knows when you moving... and i didn't look up your deck so i didn't know exactly what you were getting, i was just throwin in my 2cents :)

Finally getting around to ordering the head unit tomorrow. It's been sort of hectic lately with the getting the new truck, truck getting peppered with rocks, trading new truck in on another new truck thing. :D

Ordered the DDX712 head unit, Scoshe installation kit and wiring harness, Kenwood Sirius receiver and adapter, PAC SWI-JACK steering wheel control kit, and the Lexus GS Shark Fin Antenna Adapter.

Hopefully everything arrives next week so I can do the install on Friday. It should be pretty simple, only concern I have is the steering wheel control converter thing. I've never installed one of those so hope it's pretty straight forward.

Woohoo, everything has come in and the head unit is being delivered today. I'll be doing the install this evening. I'm really looking forward to the new toys. :D
