Dynamat Speaker Kit

Hi All,

I am getting a new HU (Alpine CDE 126BT) and 6x9's (Pioneer TS-A6964R) for the front doors, from Crutchfield. Speakers will be running directly of HU (18 RMS) with no extra amp.

Crutchfiled sugessted the Dynamat 10"x10" Speaker Kit. Has any one used it? What were your results? Where/how did you install?

I'm a rookie at this stuff, but it seems that a 10x10 sheet would do very little. I would think you would need to insualte the entire door. I'm not looking to win any comps, and i dont feel like spending an extra $180 for the entire door. The speaker kit is only $26, and I'd certainly consider if it is effective.

It is effective, but all it will do is stop the outer skin from vibrating.

Your most effective, cheap solution would be to put a bit on the outer door skin to reduce resonance from that panel. Then get some thin metal or mesh, rivit or screw it to the door to cover any holes, then cover those with deadener, effectively make a "box" out of your door, and killing vibrations at the same time.

You dont need 100% coverage, dont let that myth get you.
