6x9 subwoofers

I'm looking for decent 6x9 sub-woofers and I'll probably buy some tweeters. In that case, I will probably run everything active. Then I won't have to rely on a conventional box behind the seat.

The only question; will they sound terrible mounted on the doors?

At the very least you will have to deaden the doors you mount them in.

I was looking and thought about it, a couple days ago. This just seems simpler.

I have a pioneer 10" shallow behind the bench seat, and I can slide the seat all the way back too

Ok cool. But just remember whatever route you choose if you don't deaden the doors properly its probably gonna rattle like a mother!!

Actually, the more I think about it, the more I might stay with the regular 6.5 option. I've been reading up at DIYMA, and while not a 6x9, they said an 8" would still probably rattle if deadened. It seems to make sense. Something about too much area flowing back and forth plus it would sound better sealed.

MTX has the thunder thins, like epa4wd he has pioneer, i used to have a clarion shallow ten but i blew that one with a 1200w amp. I have all Kenwood in my truck. the Sub woofer is a Excelon shallow ten. Look around this site, its where i buy my stuff all the time. www.onlinecarstereo.com. i had 6x9s acting as subs in my old volvo 940 before i got my tacoma and it isn't the same quality as a 10' sub.
