Four 12s in my new 07 Xtra Cab

I am going to install my four 12s in my Xtra Cab Tacoma. It's a 2007, I am keeping my factory deck, which this will be my first vehicle doing so. I am curious if anyone on here has ever installed/used a Line Output Converter.

What I have:
1500 watt MTX 81000D Mono Block amp
250 Amp Tsunami ANL fuse/holder
4 ga. power/ground wire
Four 12-inch Alpine Type R subs.
2 channel Line Output Converter

I am thinking that I only need to install the LOC to ANY speaker wire, then run my RCA cables to the converter. I am really wondering if it is that easy or if there is something I am missing. Any info would help, as mentioned above, this is my first time using an LOC.

 

Yes it is that easy...the LOC that I have used have 4 wires- for two channels with a little box that has two female rca"s on them. My worry is with your configuration...you will be feeding those 12's with 5%thd..not .5 or .05 but 5%...that is what the factory HU puts out. I did something similar to what you did and my sub sounded like crap. I ended up replacing my HU with with preamps for the speakers and a sub. What a difference that made...to me I am only a n00b...you have to read through some things but there is some good stuff here that address the issue...Article fro CustomTacos

It looks like you are going to put some effort into this...it might be worth to put in a something better that the factory HU...this is what I put in mine...Pioneer DEH-P4800MP..100 bucks...ebay has plenty.

im using the headunit and hooked up like that and it sounds great. my problem is crappy subs (3 10" mtx in a sledgehammer box) i need some 12's

 

stock HU has bass limiter...programmed to not blow the crapppy stock speakers...it might not be the subs...MTX....pimp my ride

 

but they're 10's... i sold my 12'' w7 cus i was tight on money and then bought these later on for the time being.. they just dont have the tones as 12's do...

 

Hey you loose a lot of sound quality by using the LOC. However, if you have to keep the stock deck and have the money go with a JL Audio Cleansweep.

 

I would hook the LOC to your Rear speakers.
