Help Me Pick My Set Up

So I am looking to buy a new HU, amp, and sub soon and was wondering what each person preferred. Looking for a single din setup with between 500-1000 watt rms subwoofer/dedicated amp combo. I am planning to set this up behind the back seats in a 2011 double cab with the JBL system. Loss of storage isn't a problem. Also, I heard that a new HU is needed to upgrade the subwoofer on the JBL systems, is this true? Feel free to ask any questions, too.

P.S. Please include anything else I might need to power a system like this, new battery/Big 3, etc.

 

Also trying to keep it under $1200

 

Could somebody at least give me a list of subwoofers that will fit behind the rear seats in a double cab?

 

JL 13tw5,or image dynamics id 10, or idq 10 would be my recommendations. There are several different amps that you could use depending on what sub you end up running.
No electrical modifications should be necessary with a 1000 watt system.

Very general, but thank you for the reply. I am planning to use an alpine HU, and possibly an alpine amp, but I am not sure about their subs.

 

IIRC you need a mounting depth of 6in or less for the sub to have enough clearance behind the seat. That sub would be a little to deep.

Yep thats the same depth and airspace requirements of the sub that I have now. Should work.

The mounting depth wont work if you want to run teh FI's

 

Nope wont work. That box has a mounting depth of 5in whereas the sub that you want has a mounting depth of 5.75in.

 

Now I see, only 5 inches of mounting depth =(
