door Panel swap -00-01?

i've asked before, but today i've got some new info - maybe i can get an answer...

so, in 2001 toyota switched to 5X7 speakers in their trucks.

the speakers in a <2000 truck are 6.5's. on both models, the speakers in the doors are screwed into black plastic speaker mounts.

the question is, if i got ahold of some 2000 door panels and those 6.5 speaker mounts, will they screw into the holes in my doors? Toyota didn't change the metal parts of their doors between 2000 and 2001, did they?

seems like if i got the plastic mounts off of the older truck i could put 6.5's in and totally open my options for my system. atleast, in the front... dunno bout the rear.
