Thinking about putting in a new radio/ bezel/ etc in my 2010.
My girlfriend insists I look for something with a cassette in it plus the CD.
Think I am wasting my time?
Anybody ever heard of such an animal?
Must be new/ good quality/ good brand.

    THANKS !!

What would it be... 2 DIN?

Are you looking for an aftermarket h/u? Why does she insist on it having a cassette?

If the cassette deck is to put in one of the cassettes with the aux jack for an ipod or whatever that's pointless, you should just get one with an aux input built into the h/u. If it's to listen to cassettes I guess that's reasonable...

Shes 51. and got a ton of old cassettes. like 200/ 300.
Told her it was a crazy idea.

Interesting about the aux jack idea for the cassette. Wonder what I would need?

To turn the cassette player into an aux port you would need one of these:

What if you just plugged a portable cassette player into the aux port on the h/u you get instead of trying to find a h/u with both a cd player and a cassette player?

    (1) Buy a cassette deck that plugs into the computer via USB and rip all those cassettes to MP3.

    (2) Or better yet just buying the MP3s of the songs she actually likes on each cassette (because the rip quality of cassette to MP3 will suck compared to the MP3 quality she can buy).

    (3) Or better better yet, just buy a deck with a standard 3.5mm aux input, then buy a 3.5mm male to 3.5mm male patch cable (like $6 at Radio Shack), and use your Walkman / portable cassette player and patch it into the stereo (via headphone jack) just as you would an MP3 player or any other external device.

Yeah, I'd go with the idea of getting her mp3s of these. Figuring that they haven't made any major release cassettes in over a decade and those have been played hundreds of times, she'd be amazed at how good the songs actually sounds. You could surprise her with those loaded on an ipod with this app (aircassette):

Thanks everyone for all the input.
Probably the aux input is the way to go,
but I will keep on looking for a combo unit just for the heck of it,
