Is it true that polyfill will make the sub act as its in a bigger box?

Not sure about all that. I'm not a huge bass guy, but I know what I want to hear from my gear.

I had thrown some Acoustastuff around the inside walls of the box, hoping to defeat some hiss/rattle while a low bass note and a hard bass hit were traversing the sub at the same time at a ridiculously loud volume. This is progressive metal. It "worked" but my buddy tells me I just need to dial in the amp and HU and drop the gain a little.

This is my first sealed box. I've never needed the stuff before, so I doubt I need it now. Just experimenting, really. The left over Acoustastuff was from my studio monitor project, with 2 mid-range drivers, 2 tweeters, and a sub. In that case, it made a helluva difference.

Just my thoughts. I'm sure someone will chime in with the "right" answer. :D

Here's a box that was made at my dads shop. I just found it on instagram, so I don't know anything about it.

I'd like to do something like this, only: One downfiring and one angled halfway down toward the back wall (both 10 inch subs) Can anyone speak to this? it will be my first sub build so I dont know if 2 10's is reasonable in this car. I'd like to do something like the box from subthump only with 2 speakers. Any suggestions?
