I just installed an aftermarket DVD/Navi system in my truck. I used a JBL harness to do the install. On some occasions when I start up the system, no sound comes out. There's power and everything, just no sound. If i shut of the car and turn it back on, the sound comes back. I need help figuring out what the problem could be.... All I can think of is that the remote turn on for the amp isnt working correctly.

Did you hook up the amplifier to the power antenna line, or the remote out line?

If the power antenna, some decks shut off that when you select another device (ipod, DVD, etc) and it will kill the sound.

Otherwise, next time it happens physically look at the amp to see if it is on or not. Then you can start to determine if it is an issue at the amp, the deck, or RCA cables, etc.

Sorry, I was assuming aftermarket. No idea on the JBL, but hopefully another will chime in to help.

    Good luck!
