Right now I'm looking at .8^3 and that's with removing the center console.

Seems like a ported 10, with good power, is going to be your best bet in that space.

A pair of 8's would also be great (more cone area), something that can handle some power in a small ported box.

Box size is your big limiter, even with a single 10 or pair of 8" drivers.

is this subtracting 1.5" from the dimensions (.75 per side for MDF or birch plywood)?

As i stated in the previous threads about the sundowns...just run 1 ported since it only needs .6 airspace at minimum and it should get pretty loud or just use one of their 10's

edit..If i can somehow come across the money for an sa-8 before the meet (unlikely) then you can hear it for yourself and decide

Cool. I'm leaning that way it seems that everyone has nothing but good to say about them so I might give them a shot and at $130 it doesn't seem that I have a lot to lose considering the cult following SDA seems to have if I don't like them.

If an 8 is the biggest you can fit, the SA8 would be high on the list. If you can fit a bigger driver, get one. Generally, better efficiency, and more cone area both add up to a louder sub.

So what would be a good amp for the sa8 for around 250?

That's just about exactly what I'm going for. Do you know the air space on that.

Looking around the web I found his forum and he said that while it is recommended for ported boxes a few guys have had success with sealed boxes. He recommends that if you do a sealed then build it at .2ft^3 I've got .8 to play with sooo 4 sa8's?! But idk I'm stuck in a moar is better state of mind right now but a good 10 would be about the same? I'm pretty much sold on SDA right now.

How are you determaning your airspace? i need to give you the measurements on my box and see how big it is but i think i got it around .6

Thats also good news to me so when i build the new box that will be hidden for the sa-8 i can make it tiny lol the only issue with these subs is making sure your box is wide enough for the magnet cause its like 1/2 shy of being the full width of the speaker itself...I have been set on SDA for the past couple months when i wanted to trade my L7 for one

I'm not sure how much air space I have. I was bored one night so I decided to throw it together and just threw in an Alpine Type R 10' for the time being. I'm planning on upgrading to a better setup soon though, so I'll have to see how much airspace I'm working with.

That's how this whole thing got started lol I was waiting on my sis and her bf to come back from the store while starting the grill and got to looking at the seat while I was there and had the door open listening to music and got to thinking. If you could give measurements that would be awesome. I'd give mine but they are all out in my truck but I am going to post them in the morning so that y'all can double check my math.

Ill give you my inside to inside measurements so you dont have to factor in the thickness of the wood since i used 2 different thicknesses but friberglassed over it all
