    So I got a pair of JVC CS-V6837 310w 6x8 3-way coaxial speakers for my 01 tacoma.

I searched around to make sure I had the right speaker size, but when I went to install them part of the bracket on the speaker interfered with the speaker shroud thats attached to the door.

I was wondering if this is a common problem, if their is a way to fix it, or if I should just return them and gamble for proper fitment with another pair?

also I'd love it if you guys could give me a front and rear speaker suggestion. (I saw one on the forum a year or so ago, but can't seem to find it.

    tia!

Even if you end up buying somewhere else, Crutchfield provides pretty solid sizing advice. IIRC, the problem with using many aftermarket 6X8 speakers in our doors is the speakers' depth. (See attached example.)

Assuming that's the case for you, you should be able to do some trimming of the speaker shroud to make it fit. The "easy" answer, however, may be to simply exchange them for some shallower speakers.

I went with 6"X8" speakers in the rear, where they fit without a problem. The only ones I found that fit the doors without requiring "alteration" were 5.25" speakers.

Truth in advertising: I ended up adding a subwoofer to fill-in the low-end that was lacking, even after my HU and speaker upgrades.

sweet, I think I found some Polk Audio's that will fit, I guess I'll do a return, or maybe just dish the others off to the gf's ford focus!
