The JL might fit but the pioneer will not. It is to deep on the bottom and will hit the cross brace on the back of the cab.

Are these outside dimensions or dimensions for the airspace inside? I think I’m going to steal your design so I don’t have to come up with my own. How are you liking it?

I'm not the guy who built it, but those are outside dimensions. The best sub I've found for our application is the image dynamics id10. I now have 2 behind the rear seat in .65cuft ea. They sound fantastic. Enough to act stupid if that's what you like..

The key is the mounting depth. Barely over 5in

Next best is blackbrick audio great 8 imo... most bang for buck

Thanks for the reply. I ended up going with one from supercrewsound dot com. Working well for me. It's nice, as it goes behind the larger rear seat (passenger side) and has an amp rack built in. I've just got an 8" but it's fine for me.

Now I want to get a sound processor. I have a Pioneer unit that does networking, but I basically have no control over the rear speakers. I have the fronts wired to the amp with separate channels for the tweets and mids. But the back is wired to the head unit which is only sending the mids to it. It's fine for staging up front, but when my daughter is in the back, kind of sucks for her.

With a processor, I can switch the head unit's hi/mid/low output to front/rear/low and use the processor to separate the highs and mids to the amp. Then I'll have better sound in the rear, and can just turn them off when nobody's in the back seat.
