Help me build my a moderate sound system

    I'm first going to start out by saying that I am electrically retarded. But here it goes anyway.

    About a year ago I got a Pioneer 5200hd head unit and it was nice and all but I wanted more. A friend of mine helped me put in some
    $59 polk audio db571 5-by-7" coaxial speakers (pair, black)
    polk audio db571 speakers up front and I thought that would be enough. I don't want to pay another hundred bucks for a set of rear speakers but I want some that will match the polks pretty well. If worse comes to worse I'll save up and get them but I also have the opportunity to get a 10" enclosed
    $140 TS-SWX251 Alphasonik AS8DF 8" 600 Watts 4-Ohm Down Fire Shallow Mount Flat Enclosed Sub woofer for Tight Spaces in Cars and Trucks, Slim Thin Loaded Subwoofer Air Tight Sealed Bass Enclosure
    TS-SWX251 sub from pioneer for about 70 bucks. All I would need is an amp. I have no idea if this will fit behind my backseat or under the passenger seat but I can measure it out. If not I'm going to have to think about some creative spot to put it. No idea what type of amp I should run to the sub or how to hook that up. Also wondering about amping speakers. Any help is appreciated as most of this stuff really makes no sense to me. Thanks in advance.

    Just stole this off crutch field for info on my HU to see if it helps at all

    If you add a sub, there's no reason to worry with rear door speakers. I have mine unhooked.

    and to what he said. this is pretty good info.

    I have my fader favored to the front anyways. no need to run the rear speakers hard if nobody sits back there.

    I'd go with a different HU if it don't have pre outs, WTF? You can get away with a half-assed set of components in the front doors, driven off a decent HU, and a sub or even two small (eight inch) and a mediocre amp driving it/them.

    Hmm head unit wasn't in the plans but I kinda don't like the one I have anyway. I might try and get some of the same speakers for the rear for cheap and just amp the speakers and wait on the sub though for now. I like sounds coming from all around me and I do drive around with a bunch of people fairly often so it might be justifiable. If I were to amp 4 speakers (the same polks I have) what should I look for specification-wise?

    The front seats block most of the rear speaker output.
