This is my brothers truck, so I do not know all the details. I forgot to ask the last time I saw him. I'll post it as soon as I find out though. I'm a little curious about where he is going to put them too.

Thanks! I'm liking this idea, thinking about doing this with an Android tablet and inductive charging. Just not sure where I can put the AC controls.. maybe relocate to the glove box? :notsure:

I've actually considered doing this myself. Maybe with a 7" tablet, maybe even something like the Galaxy Note II.

Does anyone have a 4 channel amp under their passenger seat? If so, what kind and model is it?

I had an older 4x45w precision power that I decided to use... but I derped and installed everything BEFORE I tested to see if it fit under the seat.

I have been running it on the back floorboard (access cab) for about 2 years, but just curious if there is a 4 channel amp that will fit.

The auto EQ and Time Alignment worked really nice. Just plugged in the mic, taped it on the headrest, closed the doors and let it auto adjust everything. It played pink noise and made some ticking. The EQ adjustments probably wont fit everyones preference but it was a good start in the right direction! I will say after the install that the stock headunit BLOWS. Everything is stock but my headunit and the truck actually sounds good now.

Nice head unit! First one I've seen in a long time that actually focuses on making the music sound good. I installed a cheap Kenwood Excelon single din last weekend, and it blows stock out the water, but couldn't help to think how this one would sound.

I went by one of the local stereo shops today to inquire about the Rosen unit. When I told the shop owner I was looking for an after market stereo he quoted me a price of $1600 and said something about it had to be cleared through Toyota and numbered by them, then flashed to say Toyota when powered on, and then it would be installed. He even showed me the company he ordered from and it wasn't even Rosen. He said, "is this what you saw?" I told him no and that the one I saw had turn nobs and buttons that worked. He went on to say that other companies make fiberglass fronts to look OEM. I felt like he was shooting me a line of bull. For those of you that own a Rosen, could you please give me some insight??

No personal experience, but I heard they suck major. Really cheaply made and breaks very quick. Not worth it. But again, this is only what I've read and been told... no first hand experience. But even if I had never heard or read a single review and was completely unbiased, I'd still encourage you to avoid it. It looks cheap and Rosen doesn't make very quality products. I have been an audio installer for many years and never been a fan of Rosen products. You are better off spending the money on a nice pioneer or alpine touch screen. If your considering the Rosen its probably because you are trying to avoid the after market look, but trust me, once you do it, you won't regret it one bit.

Oh and on a side note.... that shop sounds kinda sketch  you would think if that really was the process that it would have been posted somewhere on TW, and I've never seen or heard anything like that in all my years of installing. I wouldn't go back there, unless they can prove to you that what they said was legit and you really like the unit they showed you. More info on brand and model would really be helpful. May e a website? Call them and ask for more info so you can research it more.
