So I just tuned my antenna...
    Channel 1 swr = 1.7, channel 40 swr = 1.7.

Is that okay? Is there anything I can do to improve that? 3" fire stick ngp

    1.7 isnt too bad.

on mine, i (accidentally) cut about 1/4 inch off of the coax and was able to tune mine down to 1.5. ehh.. it all performs about the same anyway :)

That's acceptable even though not ideal. What's your SWR on Channel 20? I might suggest going with a 4' antenna to get more of it above the roofline if you have the overhead clearance for it (no garage) or using a removable mount if you don't.

For a NGP that's not bad. You'll be fine. 3 and above is
    when you need to worry.
