Kicker 8' L7 install in 05+ dbl cab

I was thinking about putting in my old 8' L7 I had laying around in my 08 dbl cab. Has anyone manage to put one of these guys in there dbl cab? I like the other subs also but since I have this laying around I want to throw this instead of spending more money. I want to install on the passenger side which has more room so any suggestion would be helpful, sub box dimension.

It fits great as mounting depth is under 5". I installed mine and then I found out it was blown. It was installed on passenger side.

 

Do you have any spec on your box?

I've got a Kicker CVR8 sub in my dbl cab. Made a box myself. Hits nice. It's behind the drivers side rear seat. I removed the plastic thing behind the rear seat so as I could make the box big enough to get the cubic ft needed for the sub.

I have an L7 10" in my regular cab you won't be disappointed.

 

My box was made by mr Marv, bought off another tw member. I'll try to get measurements for you but it was .65cu ft sealed.

Love the box dude, but it looks to tricky to build, I might have to take it down to a shop to build it for me with your specs.

 

The box wasn't too hard to make. If you have a basic table saw you can pump it out.

The plus about this design is you can keep the child hooks behind there. The channel on the back of the box fits right over it. That way if you decide to remove the sub, everything is still in tact.

Will it seems that the build didn't go too well and came up looking bad. Well now going to find someone local to see if they can build me one. It was worth a try.

I got an 8" L5 for free from one of my friends and threw together a box for it. It has really surprised me how hard it hits and how much lower it'll go than my 2 8" Polk Audio's. This is just something I threw together in about an hour with out a table saw so you have to forgive the messy cuts. I cleaned it up a little and got the top board sitting flush now so I'll get another pic up in a minute.

 

WH,, those polk subs will get pretty low in the proper box. Thats the thing about subs, the require air space to get low with any output... And those Polk subs want a lot more airspace than they are recommended for.

There is very little downside to a larger box for a subwoofer, especially sealed.

 

Yea I'm sure, they are in a .35 cube each so it's pretty small but I really wanted something that would go behind the seat so friends could sit back there and now I don't have much use for the rear seat other than storage.

Hey, mines came out worse than that. I did have a table saw but with the back brace bar it was hard to tackle around and get it even. So with that being said, I decided just to have a experience guy do it for me. Gave it a shot tho.

 

Alright guys, I went ahead and got SuperCrewSound to do my a box. Now the question is that I have a Audiobahn a8000t amp:

• RMS Power Output:
  • 400 watts x 1 chan. @ 4 ohms
  • 800 watts x 1 chan. @ 2 ohms
• Max Power Output: 1600 watts @ 2 ohms

Anyone with suggestion on this amp if it's enough power to push 2 8" L7? Also, I tried hooking up the 4ohm 8" L7 on a 2ohm parallel load the other day in a box from my friend and it didn't sound too good. But when I ran the the sub on 8ohm series load it sounds alright but didn't get that much power from it. Any though on this here would help.

 

alright guys, I've decided and running these 2 kicker 8" L7 with a SoundStream Rub1.1600 amp @ 1ohms. I think that this should do the work of pushing these 2 subs. Will post pix once everything is up and running.
