ok, now when i see a tacoma with cup holders on where the stereo is supposed to be i will know that they are hiding a double din, and get it LOL

 

Yah it most likely won't deter thieves who are out to get something specific, but it will most likely deter the tweeker running around your neighborhood peekin in windows..

 

that's pretty slick thinking! i sure wish the double-din on 1st gens was up high on the console. where it's at now makes getting a HU with a screen on it kinda useless.

Great idea. I just installed the Pionner Avic F700 and was concerned about possible theft action. I know they make some double din units that you can take off, but mine isnt one of them. I think I am going to make up one of those rigs. Ho HO HO
