Heat shield vibration

    i just finished installing my amps and sub, and the only vibration i have is coming from the heat shield above the muffler and the cat. what's the best way to stop this? i was thinking maybe high temp RTV

    i have some of the dynamat extreme laying around, it says high heat, would that work?

    but from what I understand that stuffs $$$$$$$$

    I'd try a cheaper, more durable alternative for under the truck.

    would there be any major issues if i just removed the heat shield? now that ive done some inspection of it there is not enough contact with the frame to effectively use RTV. but I'm afraid the dynamat extreme might melt seeing as it will be adhesive side towards the muffler, if i put it on top. also how will it fair in the elements?

    Some stuff. Not a lot, just some.

    You could use something like this if you remove the shield. Double check the specs first though.

    Or wrap the muff and cat with this after you remove the shield
