Painted emblems, tires, smoked led tail lights, halo and HID head lights, HID fog lights, black grill, blue interior lighting, dual 10" sub woofers, led smoked 3rd brake light, tailgate light bar, rain visors, short antenna, 16% tint on all back windows and visor...more to come.
Putting in a sound system. I've got everything wired up, one sub is in the mail so the box isnt in yet, just worried the power wire is too small. It's from a single 10" sub I had with a 1000w amp.
It's 10g, will need to hold 2x10" 550w subs and the 1000w amp.

Should I go get a smaller gauge?

If your talking the amp to speaker connection 10 gauge is fine. If your talking battery to amp it should be probably a 4gauge if it is 1000 watts rms. If it is 1000 watts max you could probably get a way with 8 gauge battery to amp power wire. Hope this helps.

10 guage is going to get HOT-I would use 6 guage or better. You do not want to catch fire.
    Bigger is BETTER--LOL

Whats the specs on your amp (FUSE SIZE)
(rms vs. max). Are you planning on adding an amp for your front speakers in the future. If so that should go into what size wire you should run.:)

Use 4g GOOD wire.. Don't buy any bullshit cheap stuff and spend the money to do it correctly. 1/0gauges is overkill for a small setup like that.
