My truck came with XM installed with the factory stereo but I don't plan to keep the factory head unit but I would like to keep XM. Is there anything special about the factory XM receiver that would prevent me to plug it directly into an aftermarket unit or is it just like a normal XM tuner that you would buy anywhere else?

    Thanks!

I did a little exploring yesterday and what I found made me believe that the unit would probably not be compatible with an aftermarket head unit. I have a Sirius tunner from my old car and its very different then what I found in my truck. The XM tuner is located under the jack below the plastic. If you want to take a look at the receiver look for it there.
