Looking in the market for new 6.5 components. Any suggestions price is up to $1000.

Alot people suggest Hybrids, if so which models. Anything else? I mostly listen to hiphop.

Hertz Mille MLK2TW system. The best driver's I've ever heard. Having said that I should mention that they were being run off of McIntosh amps, a Audison Bit 1 in a truck that's been deadned to the eye's but the best driver's I've heard. I believe they are in the 1000 range hard to find though.

The Clarus line is very nice.....my buddy runs a set of them but he also has the audison processor. I think they are in the $500 range and were rated a 10/10 perfection from an electronics magazine which is the highest rating they are gave a component set...check em out!

What model of Focal are you using? Like many things in life, you get what you pay for so I am curious how great Focal speakers sound. Does anyone have any experience with Helix speakers?

    doors were dynamatted
the amp im driving these with is actually pretty small, only 80x2

they sound very balanced and clean. they are accurate, and full. have good bottom end, the tweeters really shine too. the holes in my 2012 were gaping speaker mounting areas so these had to be mounted onto a fabricated ring to mount up to the factory mounts and span the giant gap. exterior wise, it still looks 100% stock (grills and such). the stock speakers were such paper pieces of garage.

What kind of differance will it make over the HU?

i never even bothered to drive the components with the HU. My DNX9990HD is only 22 watts per channel, the 2100 is 80 watts, so its a huge jump to push the music to the speakers, they will sound so much cleaner and clearer esp at moderate volume levels, there wont be any distortion.

lol the tacoma seems to be eating all my $ though, while the hobby feels neglected and alone ;)

i like how compact that amp is. it fits under the seat well ahead of the rear anchors so its not in any ones way, your dog, or getting mashed by peoples shoes. seat sliding is not interfered with either... also, the amp is really quiet, there is no feedback, or alternator noise that can be heard at ANY volume....

Yea, I have a Audi TT 225 roadster that my wife and I have virtually stopped driving. This is my first amp so thanks for the info.

that TT has got to be a blast!

there are def much cheaper amps out there, but for a class AB, i think this one will last a long time, and come out sounding better than most others while keeping a compact size.

if you do it update the thread!

For the guys with focal, do the crossover fit on the door? Just planning ahead since I will be installing the components last due to funding :)
