Any body installed these: Polk Audio DXi690 in their front Tacoma DbC doors? ********* said thier brackets/spacers would work with any 6x9 with mounting depth of 3 1/4". These are 3 3/16. Pretty close for comfort. also looking at the Boston Acoustics SC95 which would def. fit. Any opinions on these two speakers? I have a Pioneer AVH-P2400BT HU. No amp. Also, if I use three way speaks up front, should i still connect the tweeters that are in there already? Thanks for any advice,

    Stan

3-3/16" is less than 3-1/4" so they will fit.
If you're concerned, get some 1/4" weatherstripping and stick it around the opening on the adapter to move the cone out so it'll only be 3-1/16" after the weatherstripping compresses.

I'm running a Polk DB6501 component system and it fits perfectly (but it's only 2-5/16" deep). Keep in mind that the TT adapters will give you about 3/4" more than factory.

I mounted my crossover under the armrest.

Yeah i know 3 3/16 is a 1/16 less than 3 1/4 just thought it might be too close for comfort...who knows what kind of tolerances these guys hold. Just ordered the adapters, just have to decide on some 6x9's. Any opinions?

I was planning on using those same speakers. I would love to hear about what you pick.

I would also like to hear about if you need to reconnect the tweeters because the DXi690 have them in the speaker. I thought about replacing the 6x9 with the DXi690 and then some polk tweeters as well, but I am unsure if it would mess anything up.

Yes, that is part of my dilema. I know everyone has an opinion on speaks but was hoping someone had some experience with either of these.
