F/S-2012 FACTORY NAVIGATION RADIO

Has it been confirmed that for a 2012 with BT, XM, and steering wheel control swapping to an Entune unit is a direct swap?

What else would I need to make this swap work? Would the GPS work with the XM shark fin antena? How would I get the back up cam over to the Entune screen?

Anyone got any info on this at all? Thanks in advance!

Edit: I do NOT have the JBL, I THINK I have the basic radio with the XM and blue tooth upgrades.

 

Received my nav unit today. Will test it out tonight.

... I have the 2012 Entune system (w/ JBL) and love it ... great GPS too ... that is a good price for head unit too ...

I'm working on the project now and will post (probably create my own thread) the results and write-up. Basically you have to run new wiring from the headunit to the amplifier, and reroute the speaker wires to the amp. The hardest part is finding the amplifier connectors, Toyota only sells them with the full harness = $$$.

Afternoon Everyone,
I've just been reviewing your forum here on the Toyota Radio's in previous years. I purchased my 2013 thinking that it would have the Apps option on the radio because the model I test drove had it ( Wrong color - ordered my truck) needless to say I wasn't happy to find out that the radio that came with it was the....hmmm......I'm gonna call it the Basic Touch Screen with BT. (57053 - Pics attached)
I'm looking at upgrading this Radio to the one Dib 9102 had therein his post. The Truck I have is the Sport TRD v6 double cab. So to make sure I have my facts straight:

1. The 2012 and the 2013 Radio like Dib 9102 has will fit in my truck.
2. This is not a simple remove the basic and install the "new"
3. I need to have the Entune JBL system in order for this to work

Am I correct with what I am reading? The Sport is not prewired for JBL is it?

I have the same radio as you do(57053) in my 2013 Tacoma double cab. SR5 2wd 4cyl. I am desperately trying to find the correct radio to put in that will work with my steering wheel controls that will also have the Bluetooth and GPS/Navigation... Anyone know what I should buy? Also what else I might need to make it work as far as harnesses,GPS antenna. ect... Thanks Randy
