The cheaper one is not 'Sirius satellite radio ready'.
Also the cheaper one doesn't have navigation maps that can be updated online.

Not need to mention the quality differs significantly.

Fair enough. Exactly the answer I was looking for. Thanks

Tacoma Guy - See all my reviews

    Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: 2011 Toyota Tacoma In-dash Vehicle DVD GPS Navigation Stereo SAT Sirius Ready Bluetooth Deck AV Receiver CD Player Stereo Astrium GEE-5985 (Electronics)
Installed this in my 2011 Tacoma 4 Door last night and so far am very happy. After purchasing my truck I quickly missed my In-Dash Nav/DVD/CD/iPod/BT head unit from my other car. I wanted those features in the truck, but didn't want to lose how good the dash looked with the factory unit. Then I found this on Amazon!!! It looks great, extremly pleased, all the features I wanted and reasonably priced as far as aftermarket systems go. A couple of install notes- To remove the Tacoma Safety Module(OEM Hazard Display) from the factory unit, you have to: Remove factory unit from dash(Pop out the HVAC control panel then remove the 4 10 mm bolts), seperate the face plate from the actual metal box(Disc Changer)2 screws and some pry clips, remove the 2 plastic pieces 5 screws, then remove the circuit board 6 or 7 screws, then remove the rubber button pads. Then you remove 5 more screws to take the module out(If you install one of these, you will thank me for this!) Also worth noting is the iPod adapter is included!

Does the new unit use the Bluetooth speaker in the rearview mirror, or is it on the unit? My concern is that the call quality will be lost if I have to talk down to the radio as opposed to keeping my head up and speaking to the mirror. Please advise. Also, is it only a one disk system or a 6 disk changer? Thanks

I am looking to get one for my Pre Runner Tacoma 2013. How has it been since you installed it? Pros or Cons? Who did you do go with to buy it? Did you install it yourself?

Does this run on android or windows mobile? What kind of screen? There is hardly any specs for these things on the internet. Seems to pack too many feature for it all to work well given the current state of other comparable units and their prices. I suspect the hardware is at least a few years old.
