I have seen this in other cars (xterra) and wondered if it could be done in my tacoma. Mount both a single din head unit and a cobra 18wx st II both in a double din mount. Anyone have any ideas/suggestions if it will work and which dash kit I should get to do this? I am thinking just the double din kit?

The cobra 18wx st II is about the same size as a single din 1.88x6.5x7.

    Yes
It's been done. I would steer clear of the Cobra 18 though but that's just me.

Well I already have the cb and it was free. Soo. The first pic looks kinda tragic. The second pic looks pretty good. Thanks for your input and the pics.

My problem I ran into was the radio was too long and hit the heater unit. My blower control didn't work correctly so I ended up taking out the center vents and filing it smooth then attached the radio in there. works pretty good and is at a nice level. I have the Cobra 29lx.
