Your HIDs are in a harness right? Which means that ground is goes off to somewhere else in The truck. I would look into terminating the ground at the light or as short as possible. Might be the issue since I doubt the truck was designed with HIDs in mind.

this may be a dumb question since I browsed through this and I've never hooked up HIDs..your besides the battery, what do your HIDs and CB share as far as wiring?

my ground is at the same spot that the battery ground is hooked to on the inside of the engine bay on the side next to the battery. would it help to have the ground from the HIDs straight to the battery ground terminal?

the only thing that they both share is the power side of the battery

if they are sharing the same ground, you're probably going to get feed back. Where is your antenna mounted?

I'd recommend a power filter or something I'm going to try to eliminate the interference I have. I'm going to take the power wires out and rerun it with COAX. I'll probably work on that tomorrow and let everyone know how it turns out.

my antenna is mounted on the back of my truck on a metal bracket mounted straight to the metal spot between the tail gate and the side of the bed. i think im gana run my ground for my cb and lights straight to the negative side of my battery and see if that helps at all.
where would i get one of these so called power filters?

Run the ground to the antenna coax (I have mine right where it hooks into the CB). And just playing dumb here but, have you disconnected the HIDs?

As long as the connection is good. & you are using the proper rates wore there should be no issues. I would interlace all the grounds though to a clean spot on your frame.

i moved it from inside the cab to straight to the negative side of the battery.

ya i have disconnected the hids and turned on the cb and no interference. im only getting it when i turn the HIDs on. do you have any pics of your ground set up?

i tried to see if doing that would change anything and it didnt. i ran all my grounds for the HIDs and the CB to the negative side of the battery and it is exactly the same amount. no change at all.

Your best bet is direct to the battery, run a larger then needed quality multi multi stranded wire, I have a full coverage Ham radio in the truck that is very sensitive , I have a few small engine on issues but nothing else. Likewise Pyramid makes an inexpensive power line filter that I have used in the past that actually works.
On another note make sure your coax is not running in parallel with a power source wire, always cross over as perpendicular as possible.

I assume the only ground on your CB is from the wiring harness correct? If so, you might also try running a secondary ground straight from the CB housing and see if that helps. Not saying it will, but that may be where you're picking up the noise if the radio itself is not properly internally shielded.
