How low does this sub get? Like what song's play well on it? I'm potentially an hour away from staying sealed.

I love the amp. It has a remote bass knob and works great for this sub.

    http://www.alpine-usa.com/product/view/pdx-m6

I listen to Dubstep/Rap mostly. So lots of low bass. It hits pretty low for a sealed box. I'm making a ported box at 1.0ft so I can hit the low low notes.

I've heard this sub vs the following:

    Rockford P1, P3, sealed boxes
Alpine Type- E and Type-s , sealed boxes
    JL w13 shallow- sealed box.

Rockford P3 can't touch the Alpine or JL.

JL is a great sub, hits a bit harder and lower than the Type-R, but costs 300$ more. Not worth it if you ask me.

I've heard 2 of these Shallow Type-R's in a Tundra, ported and tuned to 37hz. They almost hit as hard as the full size Type-R's in a ported box.

I'd say if you listen to a lot of low notes, port it and you won't be disappointed. But even sealed I'm nailing low notes rather well and moves air nicely. If you make a sealed box, I'd suggest .75 as .60 seems a bit small even tho its what was suggested by Alpine.

Songs that sound amazing on my sub:

    Datsik remix of Lick it
Skrillex - breaking a sweat Featuring the Doors
Datsik - we own the summer (or sky, can't remember the name right now)

Songs that sound ok on my sub:

Motto by Drake (just doesn't want to hit those low notes right)
Madonna- Rain (Used this to compete in SPL shows back in the day, sub just won't hit those super low notes)

Oh wow I thought they were like $300 a sub. 180 sounds better if I can find the same deal.
