I have an 06 double cab. I have the JBL radio with the 6 disc changer and I want to replace it with an aftermarket radio. I want to add Satellite radio and Ipod interface. I have heard that if you want to replace the JBL system you have to replace all the componets headunit, speaker, and wiring. Is that true? What is a good replacement?

Radiant Red Rules :) 2007 Double Cab Automatic 4.0 1GR-FE
33 BFG KM2s Fox 2.5 Coilovers w/resis up front, Fox 2.0's w/resis in rear, DSM UCA's Ultra Goliath 17x8 JL Audio all around. Satoshi grill, partially debadged. Foglight Mod, BHLM, DTRL mod, Advantage Accessories tri-fold Tonneau, Pop-n-lock with keyless entry.
You don't have to replace the entire system. You can purchase a Scosche adapter for ~50 bucks that will provide RCA input into the existing amplifier. This is how I did it and it was a pretty worthwhile upgrade for those who aren't serious about booming systems. Eventually though, I scrapped the entire JBL system.
Here is the adapter, you can find it for cheaper though;
