Bass tube or Sub Enclosure???
I'm taking my 12" dual sub enclosure out of my truck. The bass was just too much after a couple months with the sub's. Not only that, but the ceiling, sunglasses case, and back windows in the truck would rattle so much that it would mess up the sound. I would have to rattle-proof the whole interior, and that's too much work for me. I would like some bass though, and also, I miss having more space in the extended cab section. I know there is a sub enclosure that fits in between the rear seats. Has anyone installed this, and if so, how is the bass and sound from this enclosure??? Does it rattle the whole interior??? Has anyone tried a bass tube???? I'm thinking of getting a small bass tube and putting it in the middle section of the rear seats.

Too Much Bass
I got the bass bug one morning comming home from a late night of drinking so The 10" W3V2's I had in there was not cutting it so I went and bought two brand new 12" W3V3's and a P600 to drive them along with a custom built box that is mathematically impossible to steal unless you take both seats out. NOw you know that funny little quater test on top of your cab and if the bass flipps the quarter over you have good bass? well this set up launches the quarter into acrobatics. I hooked up a DB meter and it was puting out 132DB! So I feel your pain when you say too much bass, but Bro, Tell me its worth it when you pull up to some punk that thinks that he has bass and you blow his windows out with yours?
You need a remote gain control for your amp. That saves your ears. YOu also might try dynamatting just the roof, That will make a world of difference. the only thing that rattles is the rear trim piece under the rear window, Foam window insulatiuon fixed that from home depot. |

Unless you are listening to thug music, or hip hop, or whatever you want to call it, you don't need that much bass. I laugh when I hear somebody drive by with the bass just pounding...I think it's rediculous. If you are listening to rock then I say just put a 10" or two in there.
